Another round of negotiations to be held between TLP and government: hope for the best but be prepared for the worst !

Today after a meeting with religious ulema, government and TLP agreed upon some points regarding long march. Government requested ulema  to participate in negotiations with TLP. After talks between TLP and 12 members committee of ulema , TLP agreed to stay in Wazirabad on GT road until the next round of negotiation ends. The next round of negotiation will take place tonight in Islamabad. Government requested TLP to remain calm during their stay at Wazirabad and ensured them that law enforcement agencies will not do any operation against long amrch till negitiations come to any end. TLp said that they will peacefully wait for the result of negotiations. However, Prime minister clearly said that government will not issue any executive order to release Saad Rizvi. Saudi government agrees to deposit three billion dollars in Pakistan's central bank.

 After the visit of Pakistan's prime minister to Saudi Arabia, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced to deposit 3 billion dollars in central bank of Pakistan. The deposition of this amount will help the Pakistani economy to become stable. After one day of announcement, the one US Dollar traded at 173 Pakistani rupee in open market today. Saudi government also agreed to export petroleum to Pakistan on the basis of deferred payment. Experts say that it will help to stabilize the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan.

Police powers granted to rangers in Punjab, notification issued.

 As long march continues towards the capital and police seems to be unable to stop the long march in Punjab, the powers of police have been granted to the rangers. In the meeting of cabinet headed by prime minister, it has been decided that law enforcement agencies will stop the long march will full power before it reaches Islamabad. For this purpose, government is trying to engage the long march at many points on GT road. As long march reached near Gujranwala, and clashes take plavce, police says that at least 4 policemen were martyred by firing of protesters. Government officials say that they will not allow the long march to cross Jehlum at any cost. On the other hand, TLP says that government is refusing to fulfil its own agreements and due to this they will now protest and will continue their long march towards the capital.

TLP resumes its long march form Muridke towards Islamabad.

 After negotiations failed with government, TLP resumes its long march from Muridke towards Islamabad. Federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad said that government can not expel the French ambassador from Pakistan. "We will not release Saad Rizvi and uplift the ban from TLP", he added. After these statements from interior minister, organizing leadership of TLP long march announced to continue their march towards the capital. In response, police has started heavy shelling on TLP march at Sadhooke on GT road. Police also sprayed dilute acid on the march while some sources say that police has also opened straight fire on the protesters from helicopter. Police has also planned a grand operation against long march at Gujranwala. Faizabad, the main entry point of the capital is also sealed and more than 30,000 anti riot force is present there to stop the entry of protesters in the capital. Other roads of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also sealed due the long march of TLP.

Lieutenant general Nadeem Anjum appointed as new DG ISI, notification issued.

 On October 26th, Prime Minister of Pakistan issued the notification of appointment o new DG ISI with effect from 20th November 2021. Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmad Anjum has been appointed as new DG ISI after the completion of tenure of Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed. Nadeem Anjum was commissioned in 28th Punjab Regiment of infantry and is from 77th PMA long course. He has been appointed at many important positions in Pak army. He was de-facto appointed as DG ISI on 6th October. However the notification of his appointment was issued on 26th October.

TLP long march: what will be the next move ?

 TLP long march is staying at Muridke on GT road. Government says that the negotiations with TLP were successful and the long march will end soon. Federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad seems to confident that long march wil not enter in the federal capital. "We will release Saad Rizvi soon", he added while saying that government has released more than three hundred TLP workers. On the other hand, TLP leadership says that government is planning a grand operation against TLP. A member of TLP majlis e shoora said that they have opened the roads. "Government has closed the GT road at both the ends the march", said the shoora member of TLP. He also said that government may engage with the long march with force after doing a communication blackout. According to some sources, government has gathered a large number of police and anti-riot force in Jehlum to engage long march. Jam Kamal resigns: Politics at its peak in Balochistan.

 Government in Balochistan was formed by mixing up of various regional parties and PTI. The regional parties were not happy with some policies of PTI and interference of federal government in provincial matters. Moreover some regional parties joined PDM, a union of opposition parties against the federal government. Due these and some other issues the allies of Balochistan government went against provincial government and announced to move no confidence motion. After this announcement, CM Balochistan, Jam Kamal started to complete his number game in the provincial assembly. For this purpose, he made several meetings with his allies as well as with federal representatives of of Blochistan but till now it seems that majority is against him. On the other hand, opposition seems to be successful in completing number game in the favor of no confidence motion. Tensions increasing between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

 PTI government always said that military and government are on same page and no doubt they were. But recent issue of appointment of new head of ISI increased the tensions between government and military. DG ISI lieutenant general Faiz Hameed completed his tenure on 6th October, 2021. After completion of his tenure, issue of appointment of new DG ISI arose. COAS appointed lieutenant general Nadeem Anjum as new DG ISI but notification was not issued. Issue arose when PM desired to appoint new DG ISI although its against the constitutional law and norms. The effect of these tensions can be seen in the recent visit of Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia as no military leadership can be seen with him during the visit.

TLP long march decides to stay at Muridke till wednesday.

 After negotiations with a committee led by interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, TLP long march leadership decides to stay at Muridke till Tuesday. TLP leadership says that government has agreed upon to review the cases on TLP leadership and imprisonment of Saad Rizvi. Moreover government will review the banned status of TLP putting its name in fourth schedule. Government will also discuss the issue of French ambassador in the parliament. TLP says that they will wait till Tuesday. If Saad Rizvi will be released till Tuesday and he announces to call off te lonfg march from the stage, then long march will be ended. Interior minister holds press conference after negotiations with TLP leadership.

 Federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad holds a press conference after 8 hours negotiations with TLP leadership. Long march of TLP is at Muridke. During the negotiations, committee of  government headed by federal interior minister agreed to review the decision of Saad Rizvi's arrest. Moreover committee requested TLP to end their long march and disperse but TLP said that they will wait at Muridke till Wednesday (according to government).    On the other hand, TLP sources say that Saad Rizvi had refused to talk with Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad saying that he will not talk to interior minister as he had not fulfilled our two agreements. TLP leadership in long march on GT road at Muridke say that everything about the long march will be declared from the stage after Saad Rizvi will arrive there.

Islamabad police to seal the entry routes of the capital as TLP march advances towards capital

 In a high level meeting headed by IG Islamabad, police decided to seal the major entry routes of capital as long march advances towards Islamabad. Faizabad is already sealed by police. Bara Kahu, Taramri, Koral Khana bridge and Kak bridge are likely to be sealed in coming hours. It seems that government is unable to stop the long march at GT road after it leaves Lahore city. Some roads inside Islamabad, leading to red zone, are also being sealed by the administration.  Zero point and serena chowk also being sealed.

 At Chenab bridge Gujranwala, government of Punjab has planned a grand operation to stop TLP protest. For that purpose, 12 feet wide trench has been dug on GT road. Police from 6 districts of Punjab has been gathered at Chenab bridge. Notification has also been issued to suspend mobile phone and internet service in Gujranwala district for the purpose of communication blackout. (trench dug on GT road near Gujranwala)

TLP long march leading towards the capital.

Right now the long march of banned tehreek e labaik Pakistan is crossing Muridke on GT road. Till now TLP march has faced major resistances at  Data Darbar and Kala Shah Kaku. At both places, there was intense shelling on protesters. Protesters also resisted the forces. At least two policemen are confirmed to be martyred by protesters. The main target of of Punjab police till todays morning was to stop long march inside Lahore but they failed. Now the main target of Punjab police is to stop protesters from entering into Islamabad. For this purpose, 30,000 policemen are ordered to be at faizabad interchange and now police from KPK, Punjab and AJK have started arriving faizabad which is already completely sealed by containers. As the long march is advancing towards the capital, police is trying its best to stop them at GT road.
